Seattle Writes for Rights

On December 10th 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document setting out the basic rights due to all persons everywhere. Each year about this time, Amnesty International celebrates the anniversary with a world-wide letter writing campaign highlighting a dozen cases representative of the kind of work we do all year long. This year’s cases are listed below.

In Seattle, we will be meeting at Chaco Canyon Cafe in the University District on Sunday December 4th, from 3:00 – 5:00PM. 4757 12th Ave NE, intersection of NE 50th St.  and 12th Ave NE.

Please join us, in person or online, in taking a stance against  injustice everywhere.

Central Area Community Festival Information Table

Do you think black lives matter? Are you tired of the never ending cycle of gun violence/denial/inaction? Think America should stop being the world’s largest arms dealer?

Then stop by Garfield Community Center this Saturday between 11:00-5:00. Amnesty International will have an info table at the Central Area Community Festival where you can sign petitions about these issues and more. We’ll be indoors so you won’t have to stand in the hot sun.

And afterward you can enjoy great food and maybe even dance a little bit.
