First half hour is letter writing and socializing. Meeting starts at 7 pm.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to our usual letter writing actions, we will be writing personal letters to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.amnestyusa.org\/iar\/gilad-shalit-marks-five-years-in-secret-hamas-prison\/\">Gilad Shalit<\/a><\/strong>, an Israeli soldier held for five years by Hamas, whom AI will attempt to visit at the end of September (and deliver our letters &amp; others if they can).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.amnestyusa.org\/iar\/gilad-shalit-marks-five-years-in-secret-hamas-prison\/\">http:\/\/blog.amnestyusa.org\/iar\/gilad-shalit-marks-five-years-in-secret-hamas-prison\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We will also be planning for future possible actions, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making \u00a0a panel display for AIUSA&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amnestyusa.org\/events\/regional-conferences\/western-regional-conference\">Western Regional Conference <\/a>\u00a0from November 4-6 on our Visual Montage of Apology for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amnestyusa.org\/our-work\/cases\/usa-maher-arar\"><strong>Maher Arar<\/strong> <\/a>(a Canadian citizen the U.S. renditioned for torture in Syria).
