Rock out with us and 5 bands for an Amnesty International benefit concert<\/strong> to free the Russian punk band Pussy Riot<\/strong> on Saturday, September 15th<\/strong>, starting at 7 pm<\/strong> at the Benbow Room<\/strong><\/a>, 4210 SW Admiral Way in West Seattle. Suggested donation of $10<\/strong>. Bands include Rabbit Skin Glue<\/strong><\/a>, The Springboards<\/strong><\/a>, Safeword Sasquatch<\/strong><\/a>, TBASA<\/strong><\/a>, and Michael O’Driscoll<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Maria Alekhina, Ekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, three members of the all female Russian punk band Pussy Riot were sentenced to 2 years at a prison colony on August 17, 2012 for\u00a0\u201chooliganism on grounds of religious hatred\u201d for performing a protest song with the lyrics\u00a0\u201cVirgin Mary, redeem us from Putin\u201d at a Russian cathedral on February 21 with their faces covered with balaclavas.<\/p>\n

Amnesty International considers\u00a0Maria Alekhina, Ekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova to be prisoners of conscience,\u00a0detained solely for the peaceful expression of their beliefs.<\/p>\n
