Banned Books Week!

It’s that time of year again–National Banned Books Week (BBW) is being held from October 5th-11th, and AIUSA is participating by spotlighting several cases of human rights violations being faced by individuals and communities in response to their written or spoken words.

AIUSA has a special BBW page where you can find case sheets and learn how to take actions in various ways (e.g. signing online petitions, writing letters of solidarity). The page also features updates on the highlighted cases from last year, information on a youth art/literature contest focused on freedom of expression, and other helpful resources.

Freedom of expression is a human right, and participating in Banned Books Week is one way in which we can help defend it!
