Then stop by Garfield Community Center this Saturday between 11:00-5:00. Amnesty International will have an info table at the Central Area Community Festival where you can sign petitions about these issues and more. We’ll be indoors so you won’t have to stand in the hot sun.
And afterward you can enjoy great food and maybe even dance a little bit.

May 3 is World Press Freedom Day. We will write letters on behalf of imprisoned journalists and also discuss the possibility of involvement in a local event in conjunction with events worldwide on behalf of Khadija Ismayilova, an investigative reporter imprisoned in Azerbaijan, on her May 27, her 40th birthday.
