Too Much Doubt! Help us stop the execution of Troy Davis! Join Amnesty International and our allies, including the Washington Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, ACLU, NAACP & Equal Justice, in an International Day of Solidarity with Troy Davis on Friday, September 16, 5 – 7 pm at Westlake Park.
Speakers so far confirmed are Magdaleno (Leno) Rose-Avila, whose lengthy resume includes being the Western Director for AIUSA’s Campaign to Abolish the Death Penalty, and a former AIUSA board member; Gerald Hankerson – current Vice President of the Seattle NAACP, who was freed from prison after serving 23 years of a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit; and Sarah Craft from Equal Justice USA.
Troy Davis’ execution date has been set for September 21, 2011 by the state of Georgia, even thought serious doubts remain and the case against him has fallen apart.
